Precision bearings require high dimensional stability. After ring quenching (especially step quenching), the internal structure still retains more residual austenite. It is an unstable structure. It will change continuously in the process of storage and use, so as to change the bearing accuracy. Therefore, the cold treatment process can reduce the residual austenite in the structure and slightly improve the hardness of parts. However, it should also be noted that the volume of austenite should not be too small, otherwise it is not conducive to the improvement of bearing life.
